It doesn't get much simpler than this classic appetizer, which perfectly balances sweet and savory. For even more flavor, wrap a piece of bacon around each date before baking.

Ingredients
12 Medjool dates
2 ounces parmesan, cut into 12 even matchsticks
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425F.
Make a slit in the side of each date and carefully remove and discard the pit.
Stuff a piece of parmesan in the center and close so the date completely encloses the cheese.
Repeat with the remaining dates and cheese.
Put on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
Remove and allow to cool slightly.
Serve with toothpicks.
